di and mike got married this weekend. it was definitely a reunion of first veenstra, minus some key folks. i enjoyed reminiscing about living with di. because those were some good times. for some reason, i had totally forgotten about her only eating cheese, carrots and candy all senior year. i wish we could have had a share time during the reception. if we had, i would have told the story about how she, jill and i drank lots of cheap beer in the living room and sang-shouted janis joplin, then put our empty cans in the plastic pumpin we had swinging from the ceiling fan. that might be my most favorite memory of di. yep.

i must be a shriveled up old lady, because reading over my old posts made me both cringe and feel like puking. do old ladies puke? i bet they do. how could they not? i bet i will. when i'm old, of course. which i am, actually. so there. make some sense out of that.

yep.

i just finished my taxes, and it only took me about an hour. that is incredible. what will be even more amazing is not having to do them online next year, as i will not be filing for two different states next year. thank goodness.

um.

so. i haven't posted in awhile. mostly from my lack of energy. my job consists of lifting many heavy boxes, unloading them, and sorting them into minute and tedious categories.

but i get a sweet discount. this week is employee appreciation week, so i get 40% off on all books. my regular discount is 30% for book, 20% for CDs and DVDs, and 50% on all cafe items. i'm digging it.

i think i'm liking where i'm at right now. besides the lack of energy part. and if i haven't contacted you in awhile, i sincerely apologize. i'll try and be better.

speaking of being better, i have decided to join my local community center, where they have an excellent gym. my brother is the one who convinced me of this, and hopefully we'll meet each other after work everyday to work out and give moral support. something like that.

the burning has commenced. now i just need to make sure i can burn everything i need before my 75 minutes are up.

my mom led me on a real goose chase today. she wanted to me to enlarge some old proofs that she had. apparently, those proofs are copyrighted for infinite. at least that's what the guy at creve coeur camera wanted me to believe. and i only went there because the clerk at wal-mart said he would do it. now that i think about it, it's pretty funny that wal-mart would suggest that any other establishment is more shady than they.

so i said, "f it" and got some blank cds from walgreens. did you know you can buy a pack of 5 for only $2? i bought three packs, baby.

getting ready for some quality road time with my little sister becky. we're going to pick up lydia from college this afternoon. i think i've got that trip memorized by now.

making up for lost time

so. since i've been having all this free time and stuff, i've been reading and watching a lot of movies. and i do mean a lot.

latest find in movies: aaltra. you know how most foreign movies that make in the states are dramas? well, this is not a drama. it's friggin hilarious. if you are able to laugh at two men in wheelchairs, you should check it out. if you're sensitive about that, pretend like i never mentioned it.

latest book that i am reading: "hooking up" by tom wolfe. i like him. he's got balls.

apparently, i'm getting married on facebook. i'm slightly embarassed by the idea, but when you see who to, you might have a giggle on our behalf.

there was officially no disaster with my niece under my watch. phew.

in less than a week, the house will be full of people. i think we need to figure out where everyone will be sleeping. "get hectic, get crazy, get hectic, get wild!" the urge, anyone? anyone?

i want to see the new christopher guest movie. real bad. anyone? anyone?

i am taking my niece to get a flu shot today. somehow, the responsiblity of the whole matter is a little frightening.

also, tonight is earl/office night and i am officially excited. just like i am every week. the menu for tonight is hamburgers and fries.
